About AKCSSC
The All Kerala Computer Society Student Convention (AKCSSC) stands as the flagship event of the IEEE Computer Society Kerala Chapter, held annually to ignite inspiration among IEEE CS members and enrich their technical skills and knowledge. AKCSSC'23 continues this tradition, striving to unite dedicated students from across Kerala, representing a diverse range of interests under one roof. We extend a warm invitation to all AI enthusiasts and Entrepreneurs to come together, connect, learn, and grow.
This techno-managerial symposium is a unique blend of soft skills, networking, and professionalism, meticulously crafted to empower volunteers in an environment where the realm of possibilities knows no bounds. It's a vibrant synergy of technology and innovation, all harmonized through networking and the art of connecting individuals from all corners of Kerala. Meet our host - Government Engineering College Wayanad
The IEEE Student Branch of Government Engineering College Wayanad (GECW) has created an environment for tech-savvy engineering students to develop skills and come up with innovative ideas. The SB marked its first step in August 2012. The student branch organizes technical quizzes, seminars, and other student-led competitions. Invited lectures by experts from industry and other academic institutions are also conducted. With the aspiring minds of GECW, the greatest achievement was the IEEE Regional Exemplary Student Branch Award 2022 for exemplary performance as an active IEEE Student Branch offering technical programs, activities, and professional networking opportunities that enable members to build critical skills. The most recent event that was successfully conducted was the Malabar Hub Meet (MHM'22) which was a two-day annual flagship event of IEEE Malabar Hub aimed at connecting the vibrant volunteers across the Malabar Hub. A 3-day techno-cultural event ‘Illustra’ a blend of talks, workshops, and cultural was also conducted. A 3-day sight camp hosted by the IEEE SIGHT GECW to Baveli and Begur forest area ended off with a blast. Another event that was hosted by the SB GECW was the 2nd National Symposium and Research Colloquium, which was a 2-day hybrid event.
About IEEE Computer Society Kerala Chapter
The IEEE Computer Society (CS) Kerala Chapter, part of the IEEE Kerala Section, is a thriving and vibrant society chapter, renowned for its extensive membership and dynamic activities. Established in 1985, it proudly holds the title of the largest Computer Society Chapter worldwide, boasting 48 Student Branch Chapters and a remarkable membership count of 2043 in 2023. Our chapter is dedicated to fostering collaborations with Student Branch Chapters and organizing exceptional flagship events. Among them, the All Kerala Computer Society Student Convention (AKCSSC), initiated in 2015, serves as a platform to enhance networking opportunities for both students and young professionals. SlashKey, a 30-hour annual Hackathon, showcases students' technical prowess. At the heart of our success are our dedicated volunteers, many of whom hold leadership positions in IEEE. We frequently collaborate with other Organizational Units (OUs) to bring exciting events to life. In 2022, we co-hosted TechX, a flagship event featuring sessions on emerging technologies, soft skills, leadership, and industry engagement in partnership with the IEEE Computer Society Student-Young Professionals (SYP) Global Committee. Recognized for our unwavering dedication, we received the IEEE Computer Society (Global) Outstanding Chapter Award in 2018 and were honored with the Early Career Professionals Engagement in Outstanding Chapter Award Program by the IEEE Computer Society Membership and Geographic Activities Board in 2022.
In 2022, we established a Student-Young Professionals team, aiming to expand our outreach and impact on postgraduate students and working professionals. This team collaborates with volunteers at the Hub and Section levels, overseeing event planning, organization, and documentation while supporting Student Branch Chapters. The IEEE Computer Society Kerala Chapter embodies a unique blend of passion, dedication, and innovation. Our commitment to community service and volunteerism has earned us a respected position within the IEEE community, inspiring others to drive positive change.
